The Research Library

The Royal Academy Library is a reference and research library since 2020, focusing on visual arts, art theory and art history. You will find both recent and older art literature here. The Library contains some 40 titles.

Art students
In association with the Royal Academy Library, students at university-level art schools are invited to visit the Royal Academy Research Library. The Library is open and introductions are held when the librarian is on site or by appointment.

THE 1806 LIBRARY

The 1806 library consists of our oldest books and reflects what members and students of the Royal Academy needed to know in the 1700th century. It includes both contemporary and older works on 1500th to early-1800th-century architecture, technology, art history and general humanities. > Read more 

THE BLOM LIBRARY AND THE BOKLUND LIBRARY 

A collection of 1800th-century folios and journals on architecture, urban planning and conservation is named after the architect Fredrik Blom. A collection of 1800th-century literature on visual arts, crafts and general humanities is named after the artist Johan Christoffer Boklund. (The Boklund Library is searchable online)

THE BOOK MAGAZINE

In magazines there are art books and catalogs etc. from the 1800th and 1900th centuries (Literaturen i Bokmagasinet is searchable).

DIGITAL BOOKSTORE
